Insurance Exchange Building

The Insurance Exchange Building, located in downtown Long Beach, California, is a historic eight-story Beaux Arts structure that opened in 1925. Originally known as the Middough Building, it served as one of the largest office buildings in the area and housed the Long Beach Municipal Court among its early tenants. The building underwent several ownership changes and renovations over the decades, including plans for a restaurant and a focus on insurance companies. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 and has since been revitalized as part of the Promenade redevelopment, featuring a nightclub and a Jamaican restaurant, making it a notable destination for tourists and researchers alike.
