Shrine of the Book

The Shrine of the Book is a unique architectural marvel located within the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, dedicated to preserving and showcasing significant historical texts, including the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Aleppo Codex. Opened in 1965, the building features a striking white dome and a black basalt wall, symbolizing the eternal struggle between light and darkness. Visitors can view the Isaiah Scroll, one of the most complete Dead Sea Scrolls, while a rotation system ensures that these fragile artifacts are preserved.
