Florence Mill

The Florence Mill, also known as the U.S. Envelope Building, is a historic site located in Vernon, Connecticut, developed between 1864 and 1916. This former textile and envelope manufacturing facility showcases Second Empire architecture and significant industrial history. Once the largest brick building in Rockville, it played a crucial role in the textile industry and later became the largest envelope manufacturing plant in the U.S. After ceasing operations in 1975, the mill was transformed into senior housing, preserving its historical significance while serving the community. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
