Woodward Homestead

The Woodward Homestead, located at 17 Main Street in Wakefield, Massachusetts, is a historic house notable for its unique architectural style. The older northern section of the house, built before 1765, features a 1.5-story wood-frame design, while the southern portion, added in the 1830s, showcases Greek Revival elements. The house was remodeled in the 19th century in the Federal style, blending different architectural influences. John Woodward, the first known occupant, settled in the area in the late 17th century. Recognized for its historical significance, the homestead was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
