Fox Theatre (restoration by Mike Ilitch)

The Fox Theatre at 2211 Woodward Avenue is a 1928 movie palace that was purchased and restored by Mike Ilitch and the Ilitch family, with the restored venue reopening in 1988. Ilitch's investment preserved one of Detroit's largest historic theaters and contributed to downtown Detroit's cultural revival. The Fox remains a major performance venue hosting concerts, shows, and events.
