St. James Building (Henry John Klutho design)

The St. James Building in downtown Jacksonville was designed by architect Henry John Klutho during the city's post–1901 Great Fire reconstruction and is an early local example of Prairie School-influenced commercial architecture. The building is notable for its large interior light court and open atrium space, which were innovative for Jacksonville office buildings of the period. Over time the structure has been adapted for municipal use and continues to be a visible example of Klutho's impact on the city's built environment.
