Eastern Market - historic large-scale public market district

Eastern Market, founded in 1891, is a historic public market district on Detroit's east side encompassing multiple market sheds and adjoining streets. It has been described as one of the largest historic public markets in the United States and is especially known for its large Saturday produce market and year-round wholesale and retail vendors. The district has been in continuous commercial use as a market for more than a century and hosts seasonal events and flower and farmers' markets.
