Visvesvaraya Centre

The Visvesvaraya Centre, also known as Visvesvaraya Towers, is a striking example of brutalist architecture located in Bangalore. Designed by renowned architect Charles Correa, the complex features two prominent towers connected by a podium that serves as a public meeting space. Built on the site of Sir M. Visvesvaraya's former residence, the towers were constructed in the 1980s and represent a significant shift in Bangalore's architectural landscape. While the complex houses various state government offices, it is not open to the general public without an appointment. The recent addition of the VV Towers Plaza enhances the area, although it remains closed to visitors. The Visvesvaraya Centre stands as a notable landmark, reflecting the city's transition from low-rise to high-rise structures.
