Commandant's Quarters (Dearborn, Michigan)

The Commandant's Quarters, built in 1834, is the oldest building in Dearborn, Michigan, and a significant historical site. Located at the Dearborn Arsenal, it served as a military supply depot and is now part of the Dearborn Historical Museum. The building showcases Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles and features a distinctive red-brick exterior with a slate roof. It has a rich history, having functioned as a social center, library, and town hall over the years. Designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1956 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, it offers visitors a glimpse into the region's military past and architectural heritage.
