Socorro Mission

The Socorro Mission, originally founded in 1682, is a historic Franciscan mission located in Texas, USA. It was established to support displaced Spanish families and American Indians during the Pueblo Revolt. The current structure, built around 1839, features adobe construction with beautifully decorated 18th-century beams. This mission showcases the architectural styles of 17th-century Spanish New Mexico and is situated south of El Paso. A replica of the mission was once part of the Texas Centennial celebration in 1936, highlighting its cultural significance.
