Colonial Theatre (Clarence H. Blackall)

The Colonial Theatre on Boylston Street opened in 1900 and was designed by architect Clarence H. Blackall as a grand vaudeville and theatrical house. It is one of Boston's surviving early-20th-century Broadway-style theaters and has hosted touring Broadway productions for decades. The building has undergone multiple preservation and restoration efforts to maintain its historic auditorium and street-facing facade.
