Wall Street bombing outside 23 Wall Street

On September 16, 1920, a horse-drawn wagon filled with explosives detonated outside the J.P. Morgan building at 23 Wall Street, killing 38 people and injuring hundreds. The blast caused extensive damage to nearby buildings and remains officially unsolved, with no one ever convicted for the bombing. The attack influenced security and investigative practices in the Financial District.
