Knight Estate

The Knight Estate, located in Warwick, Rhode Island, is a historic site that serves as the Knight Campus of the Community College of Rhode Island. Originally built around 1830 for industrialist William Sprague II, the estate features a blend of Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles. After changing hands several times, it was donated to the state in 1964 and transformed into a college campus. The estate's main house, which has been the official residence for college presidents since 1978, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can explore the estate's rich history, including its transformation from a country retreat to an educational institution.
