Palataki (Thessaloniki)

The Palataki, or 'little palace', is a striking neoclassical mansion located in Kalamaria, Greece, overlooking the Thermaic Gulf. Built in the 1950s as an official residence for the Minister for Northern Greece, it later served the Greek Royal Family for brief visits. The mansion features a grand two-level ionic colonnade, a large marble courtyard, and extensive grounds that include a chapel and helipad. Although it has hosted significant events, including an exhibition of Caravaggio's works, the building is currently in need of extensive renovations and lacks a specific purpose. Despite its condition, the grounds are occasionally used for concerts and exhibitions, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
