Helsingør Custom House

The Helsingør Custom House, completed in 1891, is a historic building located in central Helsingør, Denmark. Designed by architect Johan Daniel Herholdt, it replaced the earlier Øresund Custom House, which was pivotal in collecting Sound Dues from passing ships. The building showcases a Historicist architectural style and features a charming cobbled courtyard. Although it served as a custom house until 1976, it has since been transformed into part of the Kulturværftet cultural center, hosting concerts, exhibitions, and various events, making it a vibrant spot for both tourists and researchers interested in Danish maritime history and architecture.
