Bear Place

Bear Place is a historic Grade II* listed country house located in Berkshire, England, northeast of Wargrave. Built between 1784 and 1785 for David Ximenes, it features unique Georgian architecture with a three-storey, seven bay design, including distinctive curved bays on either side of the entrance. The house was constructed using materials from a demolished Elizabethan structure, with remnants of its moat still visible. In the 20th century, it became the residence of the Barons Remnant, starting with James Remnant, 1st Baron Remnant. Visitors and researchers alike will find its rich history and architectural significance noteworthy.
