Richmond Plantation

Richmond Plantation, also known as Girl Scout Plantation, is a historic district in Berkeley County, South Carolina, established around 1927 as a hunting lodge for financier George A. Ellis. The site features a distinctive manor house in the Shavian Manor Style, along with several outbuildings including a carriage house and guest house. Visitors can explore the archaeological remains of an 18th and 19th-century rice plantation, as well as a cemetery and log cabins. The property, which served as a Girl Scout camp until 2011, is now privately owned but protected by a conservation easement, making it a unique destination for history enthusiasts and tourists alike.
