Jašiūnai Manor

Jašiūnai Manor, located in the Šalčininkai district of Lithuania near the River Merkys, is a stunning example of neoclassical architecture designed by the renowned architect Karol Podczaszyński. Built between 1824 and 1828 for Jan Śniadecki, the rector of the Imperial University of Vilna, the manor served as a vibrant cultural hub in the early 19th century. Notably, it was once the residence of the famous poet Juliusz Słowacki, who entertained visits from literary figures like Adam Mickiewicz and Tomasz Zan. The manor retains its distinctive late neoclassical style, infused with elements of Empire style and Romanticism, and is recognized as part of Lithuania's cultural heritage.
