Baker Institute for Public Policy (named for James A. Baker III and the Baker family)

The James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University was established in 1993 as a nonpartisan public policy think tank and bears the Baker family name. James A. Baker III, a former U.S. Secretary of State and Treasury Secretary, has been associated with the institute as a statesman-in-residence and namesake. The institute conducts policy research and hosts public programming on domestic and international affairs from its Rice campus location.
