Spreckels Organ Pavilion (Balboa Park)

The Spreckels Organ Pavilion was constructed in 1914 and dedicated in 1915 as a gift from John D. Spreckels and remains a prominent musical landmark in Balboa Park. It houses one of the largest outdoor pipe organs in the world by rank and pipes and is used for regular public performances, including a long-running free Sunday organ concert series. The Pavilion's columns and stage structure are a frequently photographed element of the Plaza de Balboa. The site is widely recognized as an iconic cultural feature of the Balboa Park neighborhood.
