Bowles Hall

Bowles Hall is a historic coed residential college at the University of California, Berkeley, known for its unique traditions and strong sense of community. Opened in 1929, it features Collegiate Gothic architecture and was the first state-owned residence hall in California. After a significant restoration, it reopened in 2016 to welcome female students for the first time. The hall has a rich history, notable alumni including U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, and traditions such as the Cal Band playing a drinking song for its residents after football games.
