Duddo Tower

Duddo Tower is a fascinating Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade II listed building located in Northumberland, England. This historical site features the ruins of a 16th-century tower house and an ancient pele tower, which was originally part of a vast manor owned by the Stryvelling family. The tower was notably destroyed by the Scots in 1496, and later, a new tower house was constructed by the Clavering family in the late 1500s. Although it served as a residence for a junior branch of the Clavering family, it was abandoned in the 17th century. The estate has a rich history, having changed hands several times, including a sale in 1788 and again in 1823, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in England's architectural and familial heritage.
