Frances House

The Frances House, located at 137 6th Street in Juneau, Alaska, is a historic three-story wood-frame structure built in 1898 by Jerry Eicherly, the city's postmaster. It showcases vernacular Queen Anne architectural style, featuring a distinctive roofline and varied siding. The house gained significance when it was purchased in 1911 by John Rustgard, the Alaska Territory's attorney general, and was saved from demolition in 1927 by Frances Davis, a prominent painter of Alaskan landscapes. Recognized for its historical value, the Frances House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
