Fort Mason (former U.S. Army Port of Embarkation)

Fort Mason, now Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture, is located at 2 Marina Boulevard and was historically the primary U.S. Army Port of Embarkation on the West Coast. While active as a military installation it contained secured warehouses, docks, and restricted military areas used during World War I and World War II. Today the site is managed by the National Park Service and hosts public cultural uses, though remnants of its military infrastructure remain documented.
