Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA)

Founded in 1805, PAFA is the oldest art museum and art school in the United States. Its historic Furness-Hewitt building on Broad Street, completed in 1876, is a National Historic Landmark noted for its distinctive Victorian Gothic architecture. PAFA's collection emphasizes 19th- and 20th-century American art and includes major works by Thomas Eakins and other American artists.
