Stellenbosch Synagogue

The Stellenbosch Synagogue, established in 1900 and located at 44 Ryneveld Street, is an Orthodox Jewish congregation in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Initially known as the Agudat Achim Hebrew Congregation, it grew in membership due to Jewish refugees during the Second Boer War. The current building was consecrated in 1923 and has served the spiritual needs of the local Jewish community, which includes students from Stellenbosch University. The synagogue remains active, hosting services for Shabbat and Jewish holidays, and has seen a significant increase in student attendance in recent years.
