Glen Maury

Glen Maury, also known as the Paxton Place, is a historic house located in Rockbridge County, Virginia, near Buena Vista. Built between 1829 and 1832, this 2+1⁄2-story brick dwelling features a high stone basement and a two-story rear ell addition. Its front facade showcases a Doric order Classical Revival portico, while the river side boasts a five-bay verandah added around 1900. Recognized for its architectural significance, Glen Maury was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
