Cafe Wha?

Cafe Wha? opened in 1959 on MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village and became a hub of the 1960s folk and nascent rock scenes. Early in their careers, performers such as Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix played the club; Hendrix performed there in the mid-1960s before relocating to England. The venue helped launch the careers of many musicians and remains a longstanding live-music spot in the Village.
