Clerc-Carson House

The Clerc-Carson House, built around 1880, is a notable historic home situated in Ripley, Jackson County, West Virginia. This two-story brick dwelling showcases the Italianate architectural style, characterized by its asymmetrical T-shaped plan, low hipped roof, wide eaves, and decorative elements such as eaves brackets and cornice dentils. The house retains its original working shutters and is part of the Ripley Historic District, which was recognized in 2004. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
