Alvah Horace Whitmarsh House

The Alvah Horace Whitmarsh House, located at 711 Pecan Street in Texarkana, Arkansas, was a stunning example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture, featuring an elaborately decorated front porch and a distinctive three-story hexagonal tower. Built in 1894 for local civic leader Alvah Whitmarsh, the house stood as a testament to the city's fashionable neighborhood at the turn of the 20th century. It was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, but unfortunately, it was destroyed by a fire in 2021.
