WJBK-TV Studios Building

The WJBK-TV Studios Building, located at 7441 Second Avenue in Detroit, Michigan, is a historic broadcasting facility listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2016. Designed by renowned architect John L. Volk, it served as the home of WJBK-TV, the third television station to launch in Detroit in 1948. The building features a striking Georgian Revival architectural style with red brick and limestone trim, including a grand entry portico supported by Ionic columns. After WJBK moved out in 1971, the building was used by various organizations, including a public television station and a youth theater. Recently acquired by the Midnight Golf Program, it is set for a significant renovation, making it a noteworthy site for both tourists and researchers interested in Detroit's broadcasting history and architectural heritage.
