La Villita Historic Arts Village - original pueblo lots

La Villita is a historic neighborhood immediately south of the Alamo that grew from the 18th-century pueblo and contains buildings and lot patterns dating to the Spanish colonial and early Mexican periods. The small, irregular lots and streets in La Villita correspond to early surveyed parcel divisions of the original townsite of San Antonio de Béxar. Archival maps and archaeological studies trace many current property boundaries in La Villita back to those early surveys.
