Petersen House - Lincoln's Deathplace

The Petersen House, a boarding house across from Ford's Theatre, is where President Abraham Lincoln was taken after he was shot and where he died on the morning of April 15, 1865. The house has been preserved and interpreted by the National Park Service to reflect its appearance in 1865, including the room where Lincoln died. Visitors can view the deathroom and exhibits about the assassination and 19th-century medical practices.
