Panama Hotel - International District

The Panama Hotel in Seattle's International District is a historic building whose basement preserves personal belongings left by Japanese Americans who were forcibly removed to internment camps during World War II; the collection is interpreted in a small on-site exhibit. The hotel operates a tea house and museum space and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has long been regarded as a local site of community memory and interpretation about Seattle's Japanese American history.
