Villa Rana

Villa Rana is a stunning Art Nouveau building located in Jyväskylä, Finland, designed by architect Yrjö Blomstedt and completed in 1905. Originally serving as the drawing and sculpture rooms for the Jyväskylä seminary, it has a rich history that includes housing university offices and facing potential demolition in the 1960s. The building, adorned with frog-themed ornamentation, was saved and repurposed for educational use. In 2021, it was transformed into Kulttuuritalo Villa Rana, a cultural hub featuring a restaurant and hosting various local organizations, making it a vibrant destination for tourists and researchers alike. Visitors can enjoy its beautiful terrace overlooking the Botanical Garden of the University of Jyväskylä.
