Rehoboth (Eldorado, Maryland)

Rehoboth, also known as Turpin Place or Lee Mansion, is a historic house in Eldorado, Dorchester County, Maryland. This 2+1⁄2-story Flemish bond brick house features a unique chimney design and an attached 1+1⁄2-story frame kitchen wing. Although the interior was devastated by fire in 1916 and subsequently rebuilt, the home holds historical significance as the residence of Thomas Sim Lee, the second elected Governor of Maryland. Recognized for its architectural and historical value, Rehoboth was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, making it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
