Palacio Piria

The Palacio Piria, located in the heart of Montevideo, serves as the headquarters of the Supreme Court of Uruguay and is a National Historical Monument since 1975. Originally built in 1917 by businessman Francisco Piria as a family residence, the palace showcases French architectural design by Camille Gardelle. Visitors can admire the Monument to Justice situated at its entrance. The building has a rich history, having been a private residence for the president-elect in the 1940s before becoming a state property. Each year, it opens its doors to the public on Heritage Day, offering a glimpse into its historical significance.
