Bensousan Han

Bensousan Han is a historic building located in the upper Ladadika region of Thessaloniki, Greece, dating back to 1810. Originally built as a motel by Samuel Bensousan, a Jewish citizen, it served travelers during the Ottoman era. The building survived the Great Thessaloniki Fire of 1917 and functioned as a motel until around 1930, after which it transitioned through various commercial uses, including a spice shop and a customs office. Abandoned for nearly 30 years, Bensousan Han has been revitalized since 2007, becoming a vibrant cultural hub that hosts theatrical performances, exhibitions, and festivals, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
