Thomas & Mack Center named for E. Parry Thomas and Jerome D. Mack

The Thomas & Mack Center opened in 1983 on the University of Nevada, Las Vegas campus and is named for bankers E. Parry Thomas and Jerome D. Mack, who financed many Las Vegas casino developments and supported UNLV. The arena hosts UNLV basketball, concerts, boxing, and other major events, and its name recognizes the local financial figures' influence on the city's growth. The center remains a prominent event venue on the east side of the Strip corridor.
