Somerton TARDIS

The Somerton TARDIS is a historic Grade II listed police box located on Acacia Avenue in Newport, South Wales. It is the last of four original police boxes in the area, serving as a communication point for police officers before the advent of public telephone boxes. The box, resembling the iconic TARDIS from the television series Doctor Who, features a lamp that would flash to indicate incoming calls. In the 1980s, local residents adorned it with a colorful scarf in homage to the Fourth Doctor. After years of deterioration, it was restored in 2010 with funding from Cadw, highlighting its significance as a local landmark.
