The Gum Wall (Post Alley)

The Gum Wall is a brick alley wall in Post Alley near Pike Place Market that became covered in chewed gum beginning in the 1990s and developed into an unofficial public attraction. The wall was cleaned by the city and local groups in 2015, but patrons quickly re-covered portions of it, and it has since continued to accumulate gum as a locally famous, informal public art phenomenon. The site is adjacent to the Market Theater and is widely photographed by visitors to Pike Place Market.
