Faneuil Hall - historic meeting place and marketplace

Faneuil Hall, constructed in 1742, served as a meeting place for colonists and later American patriots, earning it the nickname 'the Cradle of Liberty' in some historical accounts. The building and the adjacent marketplace form a National Historic Landmark complex where public debates, merchant activity, and civic events have taken place for centuries. Today Faneuil Hall remains an active marketplace and tourist site while continuing to function as a venue for public speeches and events.
