Strider Farm

Strider Farm, a historic house located in West Virginia, played a significant role during the American Civil War, particularly near Harpers Ferry. Built around 1790 in Federal style, the main house features stone masonry and was expanded in 1880. Its strategic position near the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad made it a focal point during the war, witnessing intense fighting and serving as the headquarters for Federal Major General Horatio G. Wright in 1864. The site offers a glimpse into the region's tumultuous history and the impact of the Civil War.
