Christian Schlegel Farm

The Christian Schlegel Farm is a historic farm complex located in Richmond Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, recognized as a national historic district since 1992. Established around 1789, it originally operated as a diverse agricultural site before transitioning to a dairy farm in the early 20th century. The complex features eleven contributing buildings, including a stone farmhouse, summer kitchen, and a brick schoolhouse, alongside various structures such as a Pennsylvania bank barn and chicken houses. Visitors can also explore the family cemetery and view a granite marker commemorating the farm's acquisition by Christian Schlegel in 1738, making it a significant site for those interested in agricultural history and architecture.
