2017 Las Vegas Strip mass shooting (Mandalay Bay suite)

On October 1, 2017, a gunman opened fire from a 32nd-floor suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino onto the Route 91 Harvest music festival on the Las Vegas Strip, killing 60 people and wounding hundreds. The shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his suite (room 32-135) at Mandalay Bay. The attack is the deadliest mass shooting by a lone perpetrator in modern U.S. history and prompted widespread changes in event security practices.
