ORWOhaus

ORWOhaus is a vibrant musical collective located in a repurposed 1970s industrial building in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district of Berlin. Originally built for the ORWO company, it transformed from an empty space into a thriving hub for musicians after being utilized for rehearsals since 1998. The collective gained recognition and support through protests and local political backing, leading to its establishment as a non-profit association in 2005. The facility spans approximately 2500 square meters, offering studios, meeting spaces, and event services, and hosts concerts and workshops. Notably, the street was renamed 'Frank-Zappa-Straße' in 2007, celebrating the spirit of musical innovation and community. With plans for a café and a focus on collaboration, ORWOhaus remains a key destination for artists and music lovers in Berlin.
