Otwell (Oxford, Maryland)

Otwell is a historic home located in Oxford, Talbot County, Maryland, notable for its unique architectural features. The house is a blend of two major construction phases, with the earliest section dating back to around 1720–1730 and the later addition from 1800–1810. Its distinctive T-shaped design includes a gambrel roof and several smaller sections added in the early 19th century. Visitors can explore the interior, which retains its original floor plan, although much of the decorative detailing was restored after a fire in 1958. Otwell was recognized for its historical significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
