Green River Killer guilty plea at King County Superior Court

Gary Ridgway, known as the Green River Killer, pleaded guilty in King County Superior Court in November 2003 to 48 counts of aggravated murder. The killings involved victims whose bodies were discovered along the Green River and elsewhere in King County beginning in the early 1980s. Ridgway later confessed to additional victims, at one point admitting to 71 killings, and investigators have estimated he may have been responsible for as many as 90; the exact total is debated. As part of the plea deal reached in King County Superior Court he was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.
