Klitgaarden

Klitgaarden, or 'The Dune House', is a historic former summer residence of the Danish royal family located near Skagen in northern Jutland. Designed by architect Ulrik Plesner and completed in 1914, it served as a retreat for King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine. The house features a unique architectural style with red brick and whitewashed walls, and was originally surrounded by scenic coastal views. After the royal family, it was transformed into a creative haven for artists and scientists, opening its doors in 2000. Today, Klitgaarden offers a tranquil environment for short-term residencies, fostering collaboration and inspiration among its guests.
