Great Cefnyberen

Great Cefnyberen is a historic Grade II timber-framed house located in Cefnyberen, Montgomeryshire, Wales. Dated between 1545 and 1566, this T-plan house features a medieval hall and is notable for its architectural details, including a star-pattern chimney and 16th-century roll-moulded beams. The house has a rich history, originally part of the Monastic Grange of Gwernago owned by the Cistercian Abbey of Cwm Hir until its dissolution in the 16th century. It later came into the possession of Sir John Williams, a prominent figure during the Tudor period. The house remained with the Pryce family for generations, making it a fascinating site for those interested in Welsh heritage and architecture.
